Hillsboro juveniles face charges of rape, in two separate cases

Charges of rape and gross sexual imposition have been filed against a Hillsboro teenager in Highland County Juvenile Court.

Judge Kevin Greer told The Highland County Press that the charges were the result of an investigation by the Highland County Sheriff's Office. Greer said the alleged perpetrator is currently 15 years old, but the alleged events took place between September 2008 and December 2009. The alleged victim is an 11 year old.

Greer said the 15 year old is not currently in detention, and that a pretrial has been scheduled for Oct. 1. If the teen does not appear with an attorney, Greer said that counsel will be appointed at that time.

In an unrelated case, the Blanchester Police Department confirmed this week that charges of rape have been filed against a Hillsboro teenager in Clinton County. Greer said that the Ohio Revised Code permits a juvenile case filed in another county to be transferred back to the defendant's home county. However, as of Friday, that case remained in Clinton County.
