Hillsboro Christian Academy relocates; prepares for open house, student scholarships

Hillsboro Christian Academy (HCA), a non-denominational accredited charter school for grades K-12, has moved and is constructing a new elementary building.
The school is busy preparing to meet its students’ educational needs after the Highland County Fair. HCA has moved to 849 S. High St. (also known as Dunlap Road), which was Brad’s Garden Center.
All school supplies are in storage until the elementary building – coming later this week – is finished and the modulars – to be moved later this summer – are in place.
The current building will be used as a combination chapel, cafeteria, auditorium, and gymnasium. The new structure, adjacent to the present building, will house elementary students and staff and the main office while the modular will serve high school needs.
The public has an opportunity to help the school as HCA has a booth both at the Festival of the Bells and the Highland County Fair. The school appreciates your coming by to support the school.

Donation dinners, used for student scholarships, will continue the second Sunday of each month – July 10 and Aug. 14 – at the Presbyterian Church on the corner of East and Main from noon-1:30 p.m. The menu for July is pulled pork plus all the trimmings; chicken and noodles will be the August fare.
On Sunday, Sept. 11, the favorite grilled fish along with chicken will be served as HCA hosts its open house from noon-4 p.m. on Dunlap Road preparing for the opening of school on Sept. 12.
The first day of school will be Sept. 12. Registration is still open for grades K1 and K2, and 4-12. Principal Connie Sears says grades 1-2-3 are near to capacity and anticipates those grades will fill soon.
Call the school for registration questions (937-393-8422 or 937-393-9090). Summer hours are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment.
