BAINBRIDGE – Children of all ages, along with adults, can try their hands at watercolor painting on Saturday, June 18, from 10 am. to noon at the Highlands Nature Sanctuary, 7660 Cave Road, just west of Bainbridge.

Columbus-based watercolorist Cody Heichel will lead a nature and art project. Heichel will demonstrate and explain wax-resist techniques; participants will be invited on an inspirational nature hike; and all will return to the Nature Sanctuary’s Appalachian Forest Museum to create their own watercolors to take home.

A $10 donation for art supplies is requested. Participants are asked to register in advance by sending names; children’s ages, and a phone number to betty@archofappalachia.org.

The family workshop is one of a series of events as part of the Highland’s Nature Sanctuary’s 2016 Artist-in-Residence program.
