Highland Masonic Lodge No. 38 F&AM honors longtime members

Highland Masonic Lodge No. 38 F&AM in Hillsboro paid tribute to 16 of its longtime members at its annual awards night on June 6 at their June meeting.  
    
Those honored were Jon C. Hapner and Joseph P. West Jr. for 65 years of membership; Charles R. (Bob) Fulton, Thomas H. Hughes, and James L. Stephens for 60 years of membership; John E. Brown, Gary E. Brown, Johnnie L. Hannah, James D. Keith, Gary L. Kratzer, Terry L. McConnaughey, Gary J. Miller, David M. Parry, John Max Pierre, David L. Stratton and James (Tom) Walker for 50 years of membership.  

Each man received a commemorative pin and certificate to mark the occasion, presented by District Deputy Grand Master Rex Knight, and Lodge Master Carol Jones.

Highland Lodge 38 has been active in Hillsboro since 1817, and currently has approximately 260 members.  

Charity is an important tenet of the Masonic fraternity. The 90,000 Masons in Ohio provide approximately $15 million in charitable giving annually, including scholarships, support of the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games and free training for Ohio school teachers to recognize students at non-academic risk.
