Highland County’s Ag is Everyone’s Business event set for March 7

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the presentation of the 13th annual Ag is Everyone’s Business event on Friday, March 7 at Southern State Community College’s Patriot Center, located at 100 Hobart Drive in Hillsboro.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Matt Roberts, ag economics consultant and founder of The Kernmantle Group. Dr. Roberts is a nationally renowned expert and speaker on the grain and energy markets. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, Associated Press, and Forbes, and has been interviewed on CNBC. Roberts received a B.A. in Economics from William Jewell and a Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University. Prior to graduate school Roberts worked as a commodity and energy derivatives broker in Vienna, Austria and as a market research consultant to the pharmaceutical industry in North Carolina. Roberts will be presenting: What’s Next for the Economy? 2025 and Beyond.

Kicking off the event will be Hinda Mitchell, founder and president of Inspire PR Group. Inspire, a midsize firm of 20 team members and founded in 2014, in the strategy and execution of communications programs for clients across the United States in the food production, restaurant, agriculture, financial, government, nonprofit, pet, and education sectors. Mitchell is a sought-after strategic leader and crisis and issues manager for corporate leaders, manufacturers, food companies, higher education, and school districts. She has a passion for employee engagement and positioning major food brands as an employer of choice. Mitchell will be presenting: Becoming an Employer of Choice: Communicating Purpose and Values to Recruit and Retain Talent.

“The goal of this event has been to network Highland County’s business community with our county’s top industry, agriculture,” said Jamie Wheeler, Highland County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “This event annually draws together business leaders, farmers and youth looking to be involved in agriculture.”

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and welcoming remarks will start at 9:45 a.m., featuring Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Brian Baldridge. The event will conclude at noon with lunch that will be prepared by a local caterer and served by local FFA Chapter members.  

Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased by visiting the Chamber office at 129 North High Street in Hillsboro, calling (937) 393-1111, or can be purchased online at www.thehighlandchamber.com. Seating for the event is limited so we recommend purchasing your tickets early.
