Highland County Visitors Bureau names new executive director

The Board of Trustees of the Highland County Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce the appointment of Destiny Bryson as Highland County Visitors Bureau Executive Director. She begins her position on Monday, Aug. 22.
Bryson most recently served as administrator for a Columbus law firm with an international client base that specialized in consumer protection and regulatory compliance issues. Prior to that, Bryson was a top staffer to then Auditor of State Betty Montgomery, where she oversaw all scheduling and logistical matters. Bryson also served internships at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and Ohio House of Representatives.

“We are extremely excited for Destiny to join the HCVB,” Board President Tom Horst said. “Her knowledge of Highland County, coupled with her impressive professional credentials, makes her uniquely suited to move the HCVB forward. Destiny brings a fresh face and a new perspective to the position, and we expect great success under her leadership.”
The public is invited to meet Bryson and the Board of Trustees for the Highland County Visitors Bureau on Sept. 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the official grand opening of the new Welcome Center, located in historic uptown Hillsboro, 130 South High Street, Hillsboro.
“The mission of HCVB is to attract visitors to Highland County through education, promotion and marketing of attractions and activities in the region,” Bryson said. “I am looking forward to the execution of this mission by building a strong web and social media presence, staffing the welcome center with trained volunteers and networking fellow industry directors from around the state.”
HCVB is a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO). The HCVB acts as a one-stop shop for all things related to tourism promotion and the marketing of Highland County. Highland County has become the preferred destination for day trips, weekend getaways and extended vacations for southern Ohio.
“My husband and I returned to the area to raise our three young children around family and lifelong friends in a community we love,” Bryson said. “The goal of HCVB is to improve the economic vitality of our community by asking others to visit, explore and enjoy the many things we enjoy daily.”

Bryson holds a bachelor of arts degree from The Ohio State University and a post-graduate certificate in paralegal studies from Capital University Law School. She is a graduate of Greenfield McClain High School.
