Highland County Sheriff’s Office investigating incident in Paint Township

On Saturday at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen in Paint Township stating they had just returned home and their front door was open, and lights were on in their home that appeared to be flashlights.  

The homeowner then advised they could see someone in the residence wearing a black hoodie, and the suspect ran out the backdoor. Deputies arrived and cleared the residence. No one was found inside the home, and according to the homeowner, nothing appeared to be missing.  

One of the HCSO K9s on duty ran a track, and the road lieutenant arrived and deployed the HCSO drone. After a search of the area, no suspect was located.
