Highland County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting & Dinner celebrates 35 years of the Chamber

A crowd of over 225 people gathered on May 8 for the Highland County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting and Dinner. Hosted by The Orpheum, located in uptown Hillsboro, the event allowed attendees an evening of networking within the Highland County business community.

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual meeting and dinner on Thursday, May 8, at The Orpheum located in uptown Hillsboro. Over 225 guests attended the event “Taking It Back To The 90s,” in honor of the Chamber’s 35 years of business, and enjoyed an evening of networking within the Highland County business community. Dinner was provided by All Seasons Catering, Sassafras Kitchen and Coffee Bar, Shoelaces Catering, Maplecrest Meats & More, and Batter Up Bakery.

Highlights of the evening included comments made by Chamber Board of Directors Chairman Eddy Maillot, a financial report by Board Treasurer Lindsay Cloud, and a Chamber update given by Executive Director Jamie Wheeler.

Throughout the evening, guests competed in a variety of contests to earn prizes for themselves or their staff. Over 25 different local businesses donated items for gift baskets that were raffled off throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the event allow the Chamber to support its initiatives of advocating for the business community while promoting economic and community development.

Below, Highland County Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Eddy Maillot welcomed those in attendance to the Chamber’s Annual Meeting. The organization’s 2024 accomplishments were shared including: 41 new members, 20 ribbon cuttings, 26 Chamber events with a combined attendance of 1,940.
