Heartfelt support for Richard Martin Family

GREENFIELD – Hundreds of community members packed the McClain High School auditorium Sunday, Nov. 22 for a fundraiser for Richard and Carole Martin.

In addition to outstanding music and entertainment, more than $13,000 was raised during the special event.

“It’s always great to see Greenfield people taking care of their own,” said Greenfield City Manager Ron Coffey.

“The influence of the Martins was obvious, as one after another of stellar musicians showed their love for the Martin family and sang and played their hearts out. We send our best wishes to Richard and Carole in the days, weeks and months ahead.”

Mr. Martin, a well-known country musician who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, is suffering from cancer.

His family and friends put together the Nov. 22 fundraiser, with numerous entertainers performing, including Richard’s son, popular country music singer and Nashville recording artist Brad Martin.

Also performing were Richard’s daughter, Melissa Lea Martin Grate, Gary Adams, Don Adams, Darrell Adams, Farrell Adams, and Joe Adams, Dave and Brenda Hardin, Wayne Hobbes, Dan Cade, Chuck Anderson, Rod West, Bret Snivley, Greg Smith, Jim Bristley, John Crabtree, Steve Marple, Faye Marple, Roger Lee Graves, Richard’s grandson, Ryan Grate, and Michael Keith Whitley.

The Martin family thanked the community for their heartfelt support for this event.
