HCFFA hosts 19th annual Public Safety Day

The Highland County Firefighters Association held its 19th annual Public Safety Day, Sunday, June 7 at the Hillsboro Kroger on Harry Sauner Road.

Events included: fire trucks, life squads, police vehicles and medical helicopters on display and a fire hose for kids to spray water. There also was a safety trailer to instruct youths how to stay low in smoke and escape their home in case of a fire.

Other events included: UC Air Care & Miami Valley Careflight; live fire demonstration; distracted driving presentation and auto extrication.

Pokey’s DJ and Karaoke Service provided music.

Other upcoming events for the HCFFA include: The 12th annual Kroger Klassic Car Show will be on July 25. There will also be a dunking booth at the Leesburg Festival on June 19 (evening) and all day Saturday.

Departments in the HCFFA include: Paint Creek, Highland County North, Lynchburg, Southern Highland, Brush Creek Township Fire Dept., Marshall Township Fire Dept., Bainbridge Fire Department, Brush Creek Life Squad, Clinton Highland, Fayetteville and Peebles Fire Department.
