Haag Motors honors 50-year employee with special gift
Steve Haag, owner of Jerry Haag Motors, handed the keys to a new 2014 Chevrolet Equinox to Diane Garrison on Tuesday, May 27 at the North High Street dealership in Hillsboro.
"I can't find the real words to express my gratitude and my thanks to her, so I'll try with a car," Haag joked at a surprise party held for Garrison at the dealership.
Garrison joined Jerry Haag Motors in 1971, when Jerry Haag bought the dealership from Jack Matson Chevrolet. She had worked for Matson Chevrolet for seven years prior to the sale.
"Diane wears many hats. She handles all our title work, warranty claims and accounts receivable, just to name a few," said Mindy Haag Sanders. "Rather than retire, Diane has decided to work part-time starting June 1."

This year marks Garrison's 50th anniversary at the dealership.
"We truly are fortunate to have employees like Diane," Haag said. "You mean a lot to me.
"Think about it, 50 years in one place of business. She does it, I know, because she cares not only about the place of business, but the people in the business."
Garrison and many Jerry Haag Motors employees celebrated her anniversary with cake and ice cream.
Diane is married to Alan Garrison, who is retired from Hobart. They reside in Leesburg, where they farm.
