Greenfield receives state funding for sewer project

Bergstrom, Bill Redenbaugh, Harvey Everhart and Brenda Losey are pleased to announce $396,831.32 has been awarded by the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) for the North/North Eighth Street Waterline Replacement project. The improvements to be made include replacement of 1/4-inch and 2-inch water lines with new 6-inch water lines, fire hydrants and services. Construction will commence immediately and is scheduled to be completed on approximately Nov. 1, 2011.
The project will include North Street from Seventh (7th) Street east to Eleventh (11th) Street and North Eighth (8th) Street from Jefferson Street north to Spring Street. A new 6-inch water line, new fire hydrants, and new services will be installed and at the completion of the project those streets will be re-surfaced.
The Ohio Public Works Commission provides grants and loans for local governments to build and maintain their infrastructure through the State Capital Improvement (SCIP) and the Local Transportation Improvement (LTIP) programs. Roads, bridges, culverts, water supply, wastewater systems, storm water collection, and solid waste facilities are eligible for assistance. Local governments apply for funding through one of the nineteen District Public Works Integrating Committees in Ohio.
