Greenfield council to meet Monday in special session

The Greenfield City Council has called a special meeting to discuss pending financial issues that were initially addressed at the Nov. 16 council meeting. 

The finance committee has twice met to find a more economical solution to a potential 44-percent increase to the city's health insurance premiums, including a meeting held Friday morning. 

Finance committee chairperson William Redenbaugh told The Highland County Press that the committee "Approved a recommendation for an insurance package, and we are running down some leads on it. We won't have the full information until Monday."

The agenda for Monday's meeting includes: 

 

(1) To discuss and consider the following legislations tabled and up for third reading:

 

Ordinance No. 21-10 – An Ordinance authorizing and directing the Interim City Manager, the Finance Director, the Police Chief and the City Council Member to execute a new collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, as amended.

 

Ordinance No. 23-10 – An Ordinance amending City of Greenfield Ordinance No. 04-09, setting salaries and wage ranges for the Classified and Unclassified Non-

bargaining Unit Employees.

 

Ordinance No. 24-10 – An Ordinance amending City of Greenfield Ordinance No. 07-10, Section 6: Longevity.

 

(2) To discuss and consider the following legislation up for second reading:

 

Ordinance No. 27-10 – Ordinance amending Ordinance 26-09 by updating the Floodplain Map Information.

 

Ordinance 28-10 – An Ordinance to increase the hourly wage of the Police Chief Ordinance 29-10 – An Ordinance to increase the hourly wage of the Finance Director.

 

Ordinance 30-10 – An Ordinance to increase the hourly base wage of all non- union employees one percent (1 percent) for each of the next three (3) years (2011, 2012 and 2013).

 

(3) To discuss and consider one (1) month extension of employee healthcare coverage with Anthem.

 

(4) To discuss and consider the following proposed legislation up for first reading:

 

Resolution No. 34-10 - A Resolution authorizing the Interim City Manager to enter into a contract with the Ohio Plan Healthcare Consortium, Inc. for employee healthcare insurance and declaring an emergency.

 

Ordinance No. 31-10 - An Ordinance amending the 2010 Permanent Appropriations Ordinance No. 34-09 by the transfer of funds, and declaring an emergency.

 

Such special meeting will be held on Monday, the 29th day of November, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the City’s council chambers, first floor of City Hall, 300 Jefferson Street, Greenfield.
