Greenfield business owner arrested on kidnapping charge
A Greenfield business owner has been arrested on a kidnapping charge out of the Portsmouth area.
According to Greenfield Police Chief Tim Hester, Greenfield officers assisted in the arrest of Stephen Drummond, owner of Drummond diagnostics in Greenfield.
Drummond had two warrants out for his arrest on a kidnapping stemming from an incident in Portsmouth.
Hester said the GPD assisted officers with the Portsmouth Police Department.
"They had the two warrants for Stephen Drummond," Hester said. "He was taken into custody and turned over to the Portsmouth officers and taken back to Portsmouth. Our officers did execute a search warrant on the business and located several items of evidence, that were also turned over."
Hester said that he could not elaborate on the items that were taken into evidence.
Drummond also owns another business in the Portsmouth area, according to Hester.
Hester said that the victim was the one who made the report to the Portsmouth police.
"I'm not certain of her medical condition, but she was able to cooperate with police," Hester said.
The PPD said that further information on the case was not immediately available.
