Despite some rainy weather, a good crowd turned out for the annual Highland County Chamber of Commerce annual dinner on Thursday, June 19 at the historical Scott House in Hillsboro.
Chamber of Commerce President Melissa Elmore said approximately 175 people had registered for the event.
As the Thursday afternoon rain approached the region, Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Steve Thompson dispatched an email to Chamber members that the dinner would be held as scheduled.

Highland County Day at the Ballpark Saturday, July 26
One of the Chamber of Commerce's next big promotions is the 2014 Highland County Day at the Ballpark.
The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Reds will host the Washington Nationals.
The event is sponsored by the Highland County Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $23 (the actual ticket price).
The chamber encourages people to buy tickets early. The goal is to sell 1,500 tickets.
If 1,000 tickets are sold, it allows the chamber to select someone from Highland County to throw out the first pitch.
"The Chamber of Commerce will announce the procedure – that will be fair to all citizens of Highland County who wish to compete – to choose that person once the 1,000 tickets are sold," Betty Bishop told The Highland County Press.
The sales dates continue until June 25. All tickets must be sold 30 days prior to game day.
"This activity was chosen by the Chamber board as a result of a board strategy session to create fun and good will throughout the entire county," Bishop said.
