Gas dips below $2 at Hirn's Corner in Bainbridge

For the first time since the beginning of President Obama's first term in 2009, the price of a gallon of gasoline has dipped below $2 in southern Ohio.

Hirns Corner gas station and general store in Bainbridge at the corner of U.S. 50 east and S.R. 41 south, was selling gasoline for $1.999 a gallon on Friday, Dec. 26.

Several cars were lined up at the station on Friday morning.

In Hillsboro, the lowest prices were $2.06 a gallon at several area locations.

Meanwhile, on Christmas Day, Missouri became the first state since 2009 to have a statewide average gas price below $2 a gallon.

AAA reported that Missouri's average price was $1.98 a gallon on Friday, down a penny from Christmas day.
