Fugitive from Florida arrested in Highland County

On Friday, Jan. 6, detectives and deputies with the Highland County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Lynchburg Police Department, apprehended a fugitive from Florida.
According to a news release from the Highland County Sheriff's Office, information was received that Daniel Lee Henges, Jr., 42, of Brown County, and formerly of Florida, was in the Lynchburg area on January 6, and had an active warrant for his arrest out of the state of Florida.
Henges was located traveling in a motor vehicle on state Route 135 at the edge of Lynchburg.
A traffic stop was conducted and Henges was taken into custody without incident.
Henges is wanted out of Marion County Florida for a probation violation on a felony drug charge. Henges has family in Brown County and has reportedly been staying in Brown County, but formerly lived in Marion County, Florida.
Henges will be held at the Highland County Justice Center and await extradition to Florida in the near future.
