Freezing Rain Advisory in effect Jan. 11-12

Highland and surrounding counties are under a Freezing Rain Advisory in effect from 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 until 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12.

For Sunday, the National Weather Service in Wilmington is forecasting a chance of snow and freezing rain before 3 p.m, then a chance of rain, with a high near 36. Little or no snow accumulation is expected, the NWS said.

Rain or freezing rain will continue Sunday night, becoming all rain after 2 a.m. The low will be around 32. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

A mix of rain and snow is likely Monday, with a high near 37. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.

Monday Night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. North wind 11 to 13 mph.

Tuesday – Partly sunny, with a high near 24. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 12.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, with a high near 26.

Wednesday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Thursday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 29.

Thursday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Friday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 30.

Friday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Saturday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 38.
