Former "American Idol" contestant and Nashville recording artist Rachel Hale is coming to Hillsboro again on Sunday, May 15. After performing at Hillsboro High School last fall and recording a music video with the HHS marching band, Hale returns to Hillsboro to lead worship at First Church on 50.
First Church on 50 – a church service of country music with a gospel message – welcomes Hale as she leads worship this Sunday at 11 a.m. First Church on 50 is located at the Hillsboro VFW behind Dairy Queen.
Hale’s music and message will be an inspiration to those in attendance, and the community is welcome.
From Prescott, Ark., Hale is no stranger to the stage. While interning in Los Angeles for Patriot Records, she auditioned for Season 12 of "American Idol."

Hale was a featured contestant and was a top 20 female finalist competing in the “live” shows. The judges named her the “happiest contestant” because she was always smiling.
Billboard ranked her performance of Grace Potter’s “Nothing But the Water” as one of the Top 12 Performances of the entire season. In November, Hale released her arrangement of “Nothing But the Water” to iTunes. Due to "American Idol," many doors have opened, and she is currently writing, recording, and working on an EP in Nashville with Grammy Award Winning Producer Drew Ramsey. Hale wants to share her music with the world in an effort to make it a better place, and she aims to do just that.
First Church on 50 starts at 11 a.m. every Sunday. Hale is set to lead worship and perform for those in attendance. In addition, she will be the guest speaker at the HHS Baccalaureate Ceremony at 4:30 p.m. in the High School Auditeria. The community is welcome to the event to help celebrate the graduating seniors of Hillsboro High School. The Baccalaureate Ceremony is sponsored by the Hillsboro Ministerial Association.
