Flood advisory in effect for region
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather alert for Highland and surrounding counties.
The alert includes several southwest Ohio counties and northern Kentucky counties.
According to the National Weather Service, there is the potential for prolonged periods of rain Sunday, Dec. 26 which may lead to flooding in some low-lying areas.
Additional rainfall from a second wave of low pressure is expected to reach the area Monday, Dec. 28.
A flood advisory has been issued for portions of Adams, Brown and Highland counties.
The National Weather Service reminds motorists to use caution and to avoid crossing flowing water of an unknown depth.
After a Sunday high of 68 degrees, temperatures are expected to decline by around 30 degrees to a low of 38 Sunday night.

Monday night – Low around 44. Southeast wind 13 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Tuesday – Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50 and a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday – A chance of rain before 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47 and a low around 35.
Thursday – Partly sunny, with a high near 40 and a low around 26.
