An air system is believed to be the cause of smoke that filled Number One China Buffet on North High Street Saturday night, causing the building to be evacuated.
According to Capt. Jeff Martin, of Hillsboro Fire and Rescue, the department received the call at approximately 10:20 p.m., reporting smoke in the restaurant.
"The building was evacuated upon our arrival on scene," Martin said. "We believe the smoke was coming from the air system and maybe from the range hood as well."

No flames were ever shown during the incident, Martin said.
Firefighters went throughout the structure and also investigated on the roof area.
"Their maintenance will be in to repair the system tomorrow," Martin said.
The crew was on scene for approximately an hour, and no damages were reported.
