Fayette County man sworn in as SSCC trustee

At the Nov. 2 meeting of the Southern State Community College Board of Trustees, Fayette County Probate Court Judge David B. Bender presided over the swearing in of Doug Boedeker whose appointment fills the final vacancy on the college’s board.
A 1975 graduate of The Ohio State University’s allied medicine program, Boedeker serves as Fayette County Memorial Hospital’s Director of Cardiopulmonary and Safety director, and oversees the hospital’s vascular and sleep departments.
The remaining trustee positions are filled by Kay Ayres of Highland County (trustee chair), Vicki Wilson of Clinton County (trustee vice chair), Michelle Cimis of Highland County, Rory Ryan of Adams County, Paul Hall of Brown County, Larry Anderson of Adams County, Donald Moore of Fayette County, and Leilani Popp of Clinton County.
Chosen by Ohio’s governors, the nine trustees who comprise the SSCC Board of Trustees provide direction and leadership, which allows the college to focus on fulfilling the mission of providing accessible, affordable and high-quality education.
The Southern State Community College Board of Trustees holds the responsibility to “hire, fix compensation of, and remove employees of the college as deemed necessary.
