Farmers asked to file report by July 15
Highland County farmers have until July 15 to report their 2010 planted acreage to the Farm Service Agency (FSA) according to Jim Patton, director of the local FSA office.  
Farmers are required to file an acreage report to maintain their eligibility for USDA programs such as the Direct and Counter Cyclical Payment Program (DCP) and the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).  
When filing their report, farmers must provide the crop acreage, field location, and planting date. Producers are encouraged to contact the FSA office to schedule and appointment to complete the acreage reporting process. For more information, call 393-1921.
