Fairfield’s career readiness team presents at national Association Career and Technical Educators Conference

The career readiness team of Fairfield High School presented to a packed audience of career technology educators at their national conference Dec. 11 in Nashville, Tenn. 

From left are Charles Webb, career technology teacher; Kesia McCoy, superintendent; Katie Streber, director of teaching and learning; and James Barnett, career readiness coach.

Their presentation focused on an innovative strategy to guide students into their desired career paths. Based on surveys of aptitude and interest, students investigate choices, from general, such as farming by the younger students to more specific occupations such as environmental engineering or horticulture by the high schoolers.
   
Educators swarmed the team with additional questions, when one commented, “This is the most useful and instructional session I have attended.”
