Edward Lee McClain and his wife, Lulu, have been celebrated with the Edward Lee McClain Day every year since the centennial celebration of McClain High School in 2015.

This year's Edward Lee McClain Day is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 in the high school cafeteria.

Edward Lee McClain High School has a remarkable amount of artwork ranging from sculptures, murals and paintings to the sacred marble staircases.

"The Gift" from Edward Lee McClain in the early 1900s became the pride of the city and the model for schools across the nation. He constructed something that would promise "the most good to the greatest number for the longest time."

Greenfield Exempted Village School District welcomes visitors to see the magnificent high school building. Tours may be requested by contacting the building principal.
