A woman was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, after she went through an intersection and into the path of an oncoming vehicle Monday, according to the Hillsboro Police Department.
Sgt. Ron Priest told The Highland County Press at the scene that the driver told police she thought the intersection was a four-way stop, and she continued on. She struck the oncoming truck, spinning it around.
A portion of South East Street was shut down for a time while officers cleared the scene. More information will be available upon completion of the traffic report.

Margaret A. Waldron, 62, of Williamsburg, was driving a 2010 Ford when she went through the intersection on South East Street and collided with a 2007 Honda, driven by Matt Puckett, 40, of Hillsboro.

The squad from Hillsboro Fire and Rescue was called for Waldron, Priest said, but she refused transport and no serious injuries were reported.
Waldron was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign.
