Dr. Vanzant retiring as Highland County Health Commissioner

After 21 years of service, Dr. James R. Vanzant will be retiring as the Highland County Health Commissioner.

The Highland County Health Department will host an open house for Dr. Vanzant from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Health Department offices, 1487 North High St., Suite 400.

Dr. Vanzant is a McClain High School and Ohio State University graduate. 

In addition to serving as health commissioner, he also was re-appointed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich to the Dangerous and Restricted Animals Advisory Board for a term ending Jan. 15, 2016.
