Dr. Sherif Zihni, CNPs Jordan, Howard new providers at CMH Family Health Center

WILMINGTON – Dr. Sherif Zihni and certified nurse practitioner Susan Jordan are the new providers at the CMH Family Health Center, joining certified nurse practitioner Andrea Howard, who began practicing there in late 2013.

Dr. Zihni and Jordan begin practicing at the Family Health Center, effective Monday, March 31. Appointments can be made with any of the new healthcare professionals by calling 937.383.3402.

“We are excited to have Dr. Zihni, Susan Jordan and Andrea Howard on our care delivery team at the Family Health Center,” said Mark Dooley, president and chief executive officer of CMH Regional Health System.

Dr. Zihni joined the medical staff of CMH in mid-2012, Susan Jordan joined the medical staff in mid-2013, and Andrea Howard joined the medical staff in the fall of 2013.

Dr. Zihni focuses on comprehensive care of patients throughout their lifetime. He is trained to care for the physical, mental and emotional well being of patients of all ages.

He is specially trained to diagnose and/or treat a wide-range of conditions, including anemia, male and female specific health issues, anxiety, depression, obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Jordan focuses on the management of chronic diseases, including, but not exclusive to, diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, depression and anxiety, and acute illnesses. She also provides women’s well care, athletic physicals and work physicals.

Howard concentrates on health promotion, disease prevention, and diagnosis and management of common and complex, acute and chronic disease and conditions. She sees patients with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disorders, and lung disease including asthma. She also performs work, school, and athletic physicals.

Dr. Zihni received a bachelor’s of science degree in biology from York College, Jamaica, N.Y., and his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Certified nurse practitioners (CNP) are registered nurses who have advanced education in nursing (a master's of science in nursing) and clinical experience in a specialized area of nursing practice. Jordan and Howard will collaborate with Dr. Zihni and other health care providers to deliver primary care to patients.

Jordan received her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Ohio State University, her master’s degree of science in nursing administration from Wright State University, and her nurse practitioner degree in adult health and illness from Ohio State.

Howard received her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Wright State University, and her master’s degree of science in nursing from Otterbein University, Westerville, Ohio.
