Daylight saving time ends Nov. 2
Most of America is ready to “fall back” into standard time at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, Nov. 2.
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time Sunday, which means you should set your clock back an hour before you go to bed. Standard time will last until March 8, 2026, when we will again “spring forward” with the return of daylight saving time.
There’s a lot of grumbling about the twice-a-year time changes.
In fact, U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Florida, earlier this year introduced the Sunshine Protection Act of 2025, which would make daylight saving time the new, permanent standard time.
States with areas exempt from daylight saving time may choose the standard time for those areas.
Buchanan has 29 co-sponsors and his proposal is available at: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/139.
According to some reports, the spring switch tends to be harder, but many people also lament fall's end of daylight saving time, when days already are getting shorter and moving the clocks can mean less afternoon and evening daylight.
