Davidson inducted into fair hall of fame WATCH THE VIDEO

An unseasonably blustery and rainy day at the Highland County Fair did nothing to dampen the competitive spirits of 4-Hers or the celebration of county traditions. 

 

Joining the approximately 50 preceding members, Charlie Davidson was inducted into the Highland County Fair Hall of Fame. The former president of the senior fair board said that he has been involved in farming and agriculture his entire life.

 

"He's been involved with 4-H since he was a kid, and still works with the dairy," said fair board president Dave Stratton. "He's a hard worker, and if you ever need anything done, he's the one to do it." 

 

Davidson, who was surprised by his induction into the hall of fame, said, "It's a real honor." 

 

He was fair board president in 2007-2008 and was the executive secretary in 2008-2009, and said that he began working with the fair board in the 1980s. 

 

On Tuesday, 4-H member participated in the market barrow show, sheep skillathon, poultry exhibition, junior rabbit showmanship, dairy skillathon, horse versatility show, and the beef showmanship and country bred and born steer show.
