David Lowell, a retired assistant fire chief with the Hillsboro Fire Department, recently presented "9/11 Remembering the World Trade Center" assembly programs to the high school students of Piketon, Waverly and Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington schools Sept. 7-8.
In all, about 1,300 students heard Lowell's presentation.
In conjunction, the Aberdeen fire and police departments displayed the piece of the World Trade Center recently received to the students at Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington High School.
Lowell speech was broadcast on the Ripley cable access station.
There will be a 10th anniversary commemoration on the 9/11 terrorist attacks from noon-2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 on the Highland County Courthouse lawn.[[In-content Ad]]
