Crowds pack uptown Hillsboro for Jana Kramer concert

Enthusiastic fans welcomed Jana Kramer to the Festival of the Bells Friday night, with crowds extending to the Colony Theatre and packing the Highland County Courthouse lawn.
Kramer brought the crowd to their feet, opening her show with several upbeat songs, including “Pop That Bottle,” “Don’t Touch My Radio” and “King of Apology.”

Despite brief rain showers Friday morning prior to the festival’s opening, the weather cleared and large crowds enjoyed the festivities throughout the day Friday, including a free-throw contest sponsored by the Hillsboro Indians boys basketball program and the annual pedal tractor pull.
Local singer Jessica Aber of Hillsboro opened for Kramer on Friday evening. Aber covered several country songs, including hits by Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Heidi Newfield and Carrie Underwood.
The Festival of the Bells concert series will conclude Saturday evening, with country artist Phil Vassar performing at 9 p.m. Local singers Becky Goble and Sheri Smith will open for Vassar at 7:30 p.m.
