Commissioners recognize 50th anniversary of Highland House Museum

Highland County Commissioners presented a proclamation recognizing the 50th anniversary of the Highland House Museum during their Wednesday, May 13 meeting.

Representatives of the Highland County Historical Society accepted the proclamation in the commissioners office Wednesday morning.

“The Highland County Commissioners do hereby congratulate Highland House Museum on the 50th anniversary and call upon all the people of Highland County to join their fellow citizens in recognizing and participating in this special observance,” the proclamation stated.

The Highland County Historical Society will host a 50th anniversary celebration on Wednesday, May 20 from 5-7 p.m. The event will include speakers, refreshments, a tree-planting ceremony and the dedication of the society’s new bell. The public is invited to attend and celebrate with the Historical Society.
