On Friday, March 6, the Highland County Chamber of Commerce partnered with Southern State Community College to host the first Coffee & Commerce of 2015 from 7:30-9 a.m. at Southern State Community College in Hillsboro.

Chamber President Melissa Elmore welcomed over 40 guests who braved the cold, icy weather to spend the morning with business and community leaders and hear from Speaker of the Ohio House Cliff Rosenberger.

Speaker Rosenberger spoke on many subjects of special interest to guests, including House Bills 1 and 7, as well as House Bill 2, which deals with small business filing fees.

The focus of the event was on manufacturing in Highland County. Katy Farber of Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) spoke of the importance of training Highland County high schoolers in the skills necessary to enter into the manufacturing workforce.

The Highland Chamber thanks all those who came out and spent the morning with them.
