Coburn charged with assault

On Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 12:13 a.m., Vernon D. Coburn, 55, of Hillsboro, was taken into custody at his residence on Millers Chapel Road. Coburn was charged with three counts of felonious assault and booked into the Highland County Justice Center in lieu of $45,000 bond. Coburn was arraigned in front of Judge David McKenna in the Hillsboro Municipal Court at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5.

The charges were as a result of a large disturbance at the apartments at 100 Taylor Drive in Hillsboro. The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Fred Hampton at the Hillsboro Police Department at (937) 393-1411.[[In-content Ad]]
