Clinton County Foundation sponsors grant-writing workshops
In an effort to assist area nonprofit and charitable organizations in applying for grants, the Clinton County Foundation, in cooperation with the OSU South Centers and the Highland County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a grant-writing workshop on Monday, March 15, 10 a.m. – noon at the Hi TEC Center, 1575 N. In 2008, DHL donated $1 million to the Clinton County Foundation, creating the Wilmington – Clinton County Charity Assistance Fund to support charitable functions impacted by their business decisions in Wilmington, Clinton County, and the surrounding counties of Adams, Brown, Fayette, and Highland.
To date, some $300,000 has been distributed through this program. The 2010 grant applications are currently available by visiting www.ccfonline.org and www.co.clinton.oh.us/regionalplanning or can be picked up at National Bank & Trust Company in Wilmington (Janet Dixon).Deadline for submitting completed applications is April 30, 2010.
The March 15th grant writing workshop is designed to give an overview of grant issues including:
• How to be a successful grant writer.
• What funders like to fund.
• How to apply program planning to grant writing.
• The core elements of a grant proposal.
• How to write a problem statement, objectives and methods.
• Ways to utilize soft and hard data to support your proposal.
This workshop is being presented by Becky Nesbitt, Extension Specialist, Philanthropy at the OSU South Centers in cooperation with the Clinton County Foundation and the Highland County Chamber of Commerce.
For details, reservations or more information, please contact Katy Farber at the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, (937) 393-1111.
