Christian band Sidewalk Prophets to open 2015 Festival of the Bells
Event organizer Brian Robinson has announced that Dove award-winning band Sidewalk Prophets will open the 2015 Festival of the Bells at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.
The concert will also be the 10th anniversary of the Christian opening act series, sponsored by the Hillsboro Ministerial Association, for the Festival of the Bells. The event is sponsored by churches in Highland and surrounding counties, along with local businesses.
Formed in Anderson, Ind., Sidewalk Prophets has enjoyed success with a number of major contemporary Christian hits, including "The Words I Would Say," "Live Like That," "Help Me Find It" and number-one single "You Love Me Anyway."
Their latest single, "Save My Life," is currently in the top 20 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart. The song is one of many hits from Sidewalk Prophets' critically acclaimed sophomore album, "Live Like That."
"They're very upbeat, very positive," Robinson said. "They love to sing praise and worship songs and encourage people through their music."
The band is currently headlining the Great Big Family Room Tour, bringing their music to a number of fan-selected cities. They have also toured with last year's Festival opening artist, Francesca Battistelli, along with contemporary Christian stars Jeremy Camp, MercyMe and Audio Adrenaline, according to their website, sidewalkprophets.com.
Robinson said Sidewalk Prophets' music can be compared to popular Christian band Big Daddy Weave, who performed at the Festival of the Bells in 2008.

"They're a very inspirational group that actually brings the Bible to life and applies it to people's trials and storms that they have going on from time to time," Robinson said.
The Good News Gathering praise and worship band will perform as the opening act prior to the Sidewalk Prophets concert.
"We always try to keep the opening act local within our churches, because the churches financially make this happen," Robinson said.
Robinson encouraged local Festival fans to visit their Facebook page, "Festival of the Bells Christian Concert," to read updates as the Festival nears.
"Last year with Francesca Battistelli, I was posting pictures right when she came to town," Robinson said.
Robinson also thanked local organizations, as well as the Festival of the Bells committee, for their assistance.
