Christian band Building 429 to open 2016 Festival of the Bells
Event organizer Brian Robinson has announced that the Grammy-nominated band Building 429 will open the 2016 Festival of the Bells on Thursday, June 30 at 9 p.m.
The name of the band comes from Ephesians 4:29, said Robinson.
According to their website (building429.com), Building 429 has been nominated for Grammy, Dove and Billboard Music Awards throughout their 15-year career. Their numerous hits include the No. 1 singles “We Won’t Be Shaken;” “Glory Defined;” and “Where I Belong,” which held the top spot on the Billboard Christian charts for 15 weeks, becoming one of the longest-running top Christian singles in Billboard history.
“We’re excited,” Robinson said. “They’re currently on the K-LOVE Hits Deep Tour with Toby Mac.”
Building 429 released a new album, “Unashamed,” in September, and its title track “Unashamed” is currently No. 18 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart and rising. The album “is full of artful anthem-like choruses complimented by engaging power-pop melodies, paired with raw honest lyrics, digging into the album’s theme deeper than ever before,” according to the band’s website.

Robinson said that he has seen Building 429 in concert and is looking forward to their concert in Hillsboro.
“It’ll be a little different from what we’ve seen as far as the style of praise and worship,” Robinson said. “They are very uplifting, very high-energy and very blessed to be able to do what they do, sharing the Word with people.”
The Christian opening act series is sponsored by the Hillsboro Ministerial Association for the Festival of the Bells. The event is sponsored by churches in Highland and surrounding counties, along with local businesses.
“We would like to thank the churches for making this happen over the years,” Robinson said. “Obviously, without them, this wouldn’t happen.”
