Chillicothe VA Medical Center announces new director

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Sullivan as the new director of the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. 

Sullivan will oversee delivery of health care to more than 21,600 veterans and an operating budget of nearly $200 million at one the nation’s most historic VA Medical Centers. 
 
“We are excited to bring Keith Sullivan on board as the new director of the Chillicothe VA Medical Center,” said Robert McDivitt, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 10 Acting Director. “His sound leadership qualities and proven experience will be valuable assets for the facility, the employee, and volunteers, and most importantly, for the veterans we are honored to serve. We anticipate he will arrive at the medical center within the next few weeks to begin his appointment.”

The current Chillicothe VA Medical Center Director, Ms. Wendy Hepker, will be replacing Mr. Sullivan at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center (VAACC) in Columbus, where Sullivan has served as Director since July 2013. Sullivan joined the Department of Veterans Affairs in April 1980 as a Budget Analyst.

Prior to serving at the VAACC, Sullivan served at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center as Budget Analyst; Assistant Chief, Fiscal Service; Acting Chief, Fiscal Service; Medical Center Planner; and Special Assistant to the Medical Center Director. Sullivan became Acting Associate Medical Center Director in January 2001 and served in that capacity until his permanent appointment to the position of Associate Medical Center Director on Sept. 8, 2002. Also during that period, he served as Acting Medical Center Director for nearly four months.
 
Sullivan is a 1975 graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives; a member and past president of the Federal Executive Association of Southeastern Ohio; a member of the Greater Ohio Healthcare Leadership Forum (GOHLF). Sullivan is a 1995 graduate of the VA Management Development Program and a 2004 graduate of the Health Care Leadership Institute. Sullivan was born in Chillicothe and is married with two children.
