   The staff at the Leesburg Library is scaring up some fun activities during October.  We look forward to you stopping in to visit and partake in some of the programs offered this month.
   Sign up for our Merry Money program begins on Thursday, October 1. Children age 2 through sixth grade can participate in this fun way to earn money to purchase Christmas presents for their family and friends.  The more you read the more money you will earn!  All reading logs must be turned in by Tuesday, November 24.  The elves will be here to help our little shoppers on Saturday, December 5.  Complete details and rules will be given upon registration.  Come on in and sign up!
   Patrons of all ages are welcome to enter our "Make a Mask" contest. Participants will supply all materials used for their mask.  The homemade masks must be turned in by Friday, October 23.  Judging will take place on October 26.  Prizes for all ages!
   Our Knit Together group continues to meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month.  This month¹s dates are October 1 and 15.  New members are always welcome.
   All Leesburg area fifth and sixth graders are invited to attend our first Awesome Book Club meeting for the new school year on Monday, October 5.  Join Mrs. Reno and share your ideas on books you would like to read and other activities you would enjoy doing this year.  After-school snacks will be served!
   We are hosting Computer Classes on Monday, October 5, 19 and 26.  This class is open to those who preregistered with the staff during the month of September.  The class will run from 5:30-8 p.m..
   Our teen book group, SPARX, will meet on Thursday, October 8 at 5 p.m. for their Halloween gathering.  The book this month is The Hunt for the Seventh by Christine Morton-Shaw.  Costumes are optional.  Pizza and ghostly goodies will be served.
   Greenfield Rehab Unit will be doing blood pressure screenings for our patrons on Tuesday, October 13 from 2:30-3:30 p.m..  Also, Dawna Jo Kiesling will visit with us on Thursday October 15 from 10-12 and on Monday, October 19 from 2-4.  This month's topic is Fall Treats rich in Vitamin A.  We hope you will be able to join us for these healthy activities.
   The RRR book group will have a lunch outing this month at Teaberrie¹s Café in Springfield at 11:30 a.m. followed by a little shopping excursion at Heart of the Country Gift Shoppe.  Reservations are required.  If you are interested in carpooling, please meet at Barb's house by 10:30 a.m.  The book this month is Reader's Choice or "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult.
   We hope you will be able to Trick or Treat with us on Thursday, October 29 from 6-7 p.m.  Please note that we are closed during the last hour of Beggar's Nite, so if you want to get treats this year at the library, you will need to arrive prior to 7 p.m. 
   Our story times continue on Thursdays.  Wee Ones meet at 10 a.m. (ages 6-36 months) and Tater Tots meet at 10:30 a.m. (ages 3-5 yrs). This month¹s themes include Tick Tock All About Clocks, Fire Prevention Day, Grouch Day, Stuffed Animal Day and Happy Halloween!  Please stop by the front desk or call us for more information.
   We will be closed on Monday, October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
Please use the outdoor book drop to return materials. We hope October will be a frightfully fun month for you here at the Leesburg Library and we look forward to seeing you soon!
