Carey Farm recognized as Ohio Century Farm

Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David T. Daniels has presented Dr. Bob Carey with an Ohio Century Farm certificate, formally inducting his family’s Highland County farm into the program.
Ohio’s Century and Bicentennial Farms program is a voluntary recognition program administered by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, which honors families who have maintained the same farm for 100 or 200 years.

Dr. Carey is a veterinary medical officer with the department and is one of 1,189 families across the state to receive this designation since the program’s inception.
The Carey Farm was originally purchased in 1834. Today, Dr. Carey co-owns the farm with his brother, Jim.
