Brown County Route scheduled for closure April 1 for next culvert replacement
Chillicothe – State Route 505 in Brown County is now open following a one-day culvert replacement project at the route’s 0.44-mile marker; however, the route is subject to closure again tomorrow, April 1, for the next culvert replacement.
Throughout April, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will be undertaking a series of culvert replacements along the route, replacing 25 pipes between U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 near Hamersville.
Currently, the route is scheduled to be closed again Thursday, with operations taking place at the 1.02-mile marker; barring unforeseen circumstances, the route will be open to evening and overnight travel.
Motorists are advised that the route is subject to closure again on Friday, April 2; however, a complete schedule for subsequent single-day closures has yet to be determined, and crews will be working along the route as weather and materials permit.
Each day that a culvert replacement is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County.
