On Friday, Oct. 2, at approximately 12:10 a.m., detectives with the Highland County Sheriff's Office executed two search warrants in the Village of Leesburg, one at 208 East Main St. and the other at 209 East Main St. The search warrants were obtained as a result of ongoing investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs throughout Highland County and surrounding areas. As a result of the search warrant, approximately 5 lbs of processed marijuana, stems and seeds, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of pills were seized and taken as evidence. The resident of 208 East Main St, John D. Ralston age 41 was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a Felony 3. He was booked into the Highland County Justice Center and appeared in Hillsboro Municipal Court on October 2, 2009 where his bond was set at $25,000. cash or surety. Mr. Ralston is currently out on bond from a previous felony drug arrest earlier this year in Highland County and is currently under indictment. The investigation is ongoing and items of evidence will be sent to BCI for further testing and evaluation. The case will be forwarded to the Highland County Prosecutors Office where it will be presented to an upcoming session of the Highland County Grand Jury where additional charges and arrests are possible.
