Breaking and entering suspects taken into custody; stolen property recovered

On Oct. 3, the Highland County Sheriff's Office investigated a breaking and entering complaint at a property located on Millerstown Road. During the investigation, it was determined that several items were stolen from a barn and that the property owner had video of the suspects. After reviewing the photographs, the complainant and detectives were able to identify the subjects as Christopher A. Hutchinson and Rose M. Duffey.
On Oct. 4, detectives and deputies responded to 4400 Carr Road in Whiteoak Township in an attempt to locate Hutchinson and Duffey. While on scene, detectives and deputies received a stolen boat and several items that had been stolen from the Millerstown Road property.

At approximately 3 p.m., a search warrant was obtained to locate additional stolen property from the Carr Road residence. Detectives and deputies recovered a large amount of antiques and tools form the home and have connected Hutchinson and Duffey to several Highland and Brown County cases.
Hutchinson and Duffey were taken into custody and transported to the Highland County Justice Center. Both were charged with felony breaking and entering and are being held on $25,000 bonds. This matter continues to be under investigation, and additional charges are likely.
