Highland County and southern Ohio are under a variety of weather alerts from Tuesday morning through Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from 7 p.m. March 3 until 2 p.m. March 4.

A freezing rain advisory is in effect Tuesday, March 3 until around noon, when it changes to all rain.

In addition, a winter storm watch is in effect from noon Wednesday, March 4 until 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5. Three to six inches of new snow are in the forecast.

FORECAST

Today – Rain or freezing rain likely before noon, then rain. High near 47. East wind 7 to 14 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected.

Tonight – Rain. Low around 35. Southwest wind 8 to 15 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday – Rain, snow, and sleet, becoming all snow after noon. Temperature falling to around 28 by 5pm. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday Night – Snow. Low around 12. Wind chill values as low as -1. North wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Thursday – Snow likely, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. Northwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around -4.

Friday – Sunny, with a high near 28.

Friday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 14.

Saturday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.

Saturday Night – Partly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Sunday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.

Sunday – Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Monday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
