Boedeker sworn in as Southern State trustee

At the Aug. 24 meeting of the Southern State Community College Board of Trustees, Fayette County Probate Court Judge David B. Bender presided over the swearing in of trustee Doug Boedeker, who was reappointed by Gov. John Kasich.
Boedeker joined the college’s board September 2011 and during his tenure has served as chair and was an active participant in the Long-Range Planning/Facilities Committee, which had a significant role in the design of the college’s new campus in Mt. Orab. He also attended numerous conferences, including the Association of Community College Trustees Leadership Congress Annual Meeting, the Ohio Board of Regents Annual Trustee Conference and the Ohio Association of Community Colleges governing board meetings. His current term will end May 11, 2022.

The remaining trustee positions are filled by Chair Mike Pell (Adams County), Vice Chair Brian De Bruin (Fayette County), Paul Hall (Brown County), Bob McEwen (Highland County), Brian Prickett (Clinton County) and Kyle Rudduck (Clinton County).
Two board vacancies remain following the completion of terms by Michelle Cimis (Highland County) and Donald Moore (Fayette County).
Chosen by Ohio’s governor, the nine trustees who comprise the SSCC Board of Trustees establish policy; select, hire and evaluate the president; review and act on financial matters; and establish schedules of institution-wide fees and tuition.
