Board of Realtors welcomes new members, donates to three local organizations

The Highland County Board of Realtors met Thursday, June 23 at the Hillsboro Ponderosa Banquet Center.

Board President Rusty Fite introduced the guest speaker, Hillsboro Mayor Drew Hastings.

Hastings discussed the possibility of attracting a new hotel along West Main Street across from Community Markets (Great Scot). He also discussed zoning and the city's code enforcement officer.

The Realtors presented donations to three local community service organizations through funds raised during this year's bowling tournament.

The board raised $1,500 at the tournament, and presented three $500 checks to:

• The Highland County Society for Children and Adults;

• The Highland County Humane Society; and

• Support our Troops of Highland County.

The Highland County Board of Realtors welcomed the following new members:

• From Classic Real Estate: Shannon Chain, Tracy Hancock and Lisa Leeth.

• From Sue Boone Realty: Sarah Roe, Jaime Garen and Joe Brumley.

• From Boyer Territory, Kelsey Satterfield.

• From Don Fender Real Estate, Jeremy Burton.

• From Chambers-Fite Realty, Rene Vance.

The lunch was sponsored by Tim Bullock of Union Home Mortgage.
