Board of Professional Conduct files disciplinary case reports, recommendations

Court News Ohio

The Ohio Board of Professional Conduct has filed five case reports with the Supreme Court of Ohio. Four reports recommend the imposition of disciplinary sanctions against Ohio attorneys, and one report recommends the reinstatement of a previously suspended attorney.

Parties will have an opportunity to file objections to the Board’s reports and recommendations with the Supreme Court. If a party files objections, the Supreme Court will schedule the case for oral argument. Objections are not permitted in consent-to-discipline matters.

Recommended sanction: One-year suspension, stayed.

Cuyahoga County

Disciplinary Counsel v. Shawn Alexander Romer (reinstatement)
Supreme Court Case No. 2024-0469
Recommended sanction: Grant reinstatement.

Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association v. Jeffrey Marvin McGaffick
Supreme Court Case No. 2026-0160
Recommended sanction: Public reprimand.

Lorain County

Lorain County Bar Association v. Anthony Baker
Supreme Court Case No. 2026-0164
Recommended sanction: Six-month suspension.

Mahoning County

Disciplinary Counsel v. Hon. Dominic Ralph Leone, III
Supreme Court Case No. 2026-0161
Recommended sanction: One-year suspension, stayed.
