Board of elections certifies primary votes

There will be no changes to the results of the primary election, according to the Highland County Board of Elections, following the official count and  certification of the final count for the May 4 primary election.

According to board of elections director Kate Cameron, "the results were just the same. There were no race changes."

Cameron said the count took approximately one hour to complete on May 17.

"It went really well," Cameron said. "There was nothing unexpected, and the board was pleased."

According to the board, the final numbers are:

 Issue 2 Casino Location: Yes - 3,509; no - 2,243

 Issue 3 NJFA Tax Levy: For - 307; Against - 185

 Issue 4 Soil Water Conservation District: Against - 3,904; for - 2,079

 Issue 5 Ohio State University: For - 2,497; Against - 3,560

 Issue 6 City of Greenfield: Against - 246 votes; for - 246 votes

 Issue 7 Clay Township Cemetery: For 132; against - 78
