After a four-year hiatus from the clothing store business, Bill and Pat Snyder have opened a new bargain store at the Red Barn on North Shore Drive.
The Snyders’ new store, the Bargain Barn, features primarily men’s and women’s clothing: Western wear, shoes, formals and wedding dresses, business attire, denim, and leather jackets.
According to Pat Snyder, she and her husband have attended many store buy-outs over the years to purchase merchandise. Snyder said that they are still stocking the store with additional items, including clothing for children.
“We decided on the Bargain Barn because of the economy,” Pat Snyder said. “Everybody’s raising their prices instead of bringing them down for people.”
The Snyders ran a similar store in Washington Court House for 12 years before retiring and moving to a house they built at Rocky Fork Lake.
After taking a break for several years, the Snyders said that they were ready to start again.
“We decided here at the lake would be a good place,” Pat Snyder said. “I hope it will be the right place.”
The Bargain Barn is open 5 days a week (closed on Wednesdays and Sundays) from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays.
The store is located in the well-known red barn on North Shore Drive.
